Les, the face of 2 Deadly Food & Fitness (2DFF), is a Yamatji Malgana man from Shark Bay. The Aboriginal name for Shark Bay is “Gutharraguda” meaning “two bays”. The Malgana tribe is one of twelve language groups to be found in the Yamatji region which extends from Exmouth in the north, to Dongara in the south and across to Sandstone in the east.
Les believes keeping fit (happy body, happy mind) is fundamental to living a well-balanced life, and truly enjoys helping people. He is confident an inner athlete (or AFL star) lives inside everyone, and enjoys to motivate clients and the community to unlock their potential.
Les’s passion for cooking has been influenced by four amazing people in his life - his mother who kick-started his interest; his wife who introduced him to a love of food; and his late pop and uncle who inspired him to infuse bush-tucker into modern cuisine and pass it on to the next generation.
Les understood at a young age that food and physical activity has the power to connect people from all walks of life. Its also is a way for him to connect back with his culture.
Les is a qualified Master Trainer (Certificate III & IV in Fitness) and also has a Diploma in Human Resource Management. Les has spent most of his working life in the State and Local Government sectors.
Chantelle was born and raised in Perth by parents from Italian heritage. Chantelle has a Commerce (Accounting) degree and qualifications in Human Resource Management and Occupational Health and Safety. She is passionate about keeping fit through practicing healthy eating habits and exercising - which has helped keep a heart condition she has in check. One of her favourite pastimes is cooking and experimenting with native bush tucker - with many of her creations kept under lock and key (not even Les can crack the code!). Chantelle works 'behind the scenes' at 2DFF whilst raising their baby boy.
Les and Chantelle met in Shark Bay 16 years ago while Chantelle was working at the Shire as an Accountant... the rest is history.
Les and Chantelle recently brought baby Isaia into the world. He is such a happy and vibrant addition to the family!
